Short-term perioperative use of prescription fish oil (Lovaza) led to no reduction in risk of atrial fibrillation during the two weeks after bypass surgery compared with corn oil placebo (30% versus 33%, P=0.67), found Chirag Sandesara, MD, of Virginia Cardiovascular Associates in Manassas, Va., and colleagues.
